Sometimes I've come across people who say, 'Oh, sorry I must be boring you.'
Rarely (although it does occasionally happen) do I find people without some juicy spark with that nugget of good information which I call'news'.
We just never recognise it for that.
Have you ever read a newspaper and thought, 'That's not news?'
Upon reflection, it's only not news because you know it already. What if you didn't know it?
Most of us hold a plethora of news items, mostly unpublished.
It is tapping into that source, recognising it for what it is, structuring it for the correct audience and submitting it to newspapers, e-zines or other broadcast media for the badging up as 'news'.
PROSE PR has just launched their media Training Pod schedule until June 2009. One of the Training Pods is on print media which tackles the issue of identifying 'what is news' and addresses all that information we all hold inside ourselves, as yet unbadged.
This training will help those with no media knowledge to gain confidence in being able to write a press release, structure it correctly and submit it to the media.
